The Way I Are

Performance

In his new performance, The Way I Are, premiering at KUNSTVEREIN GARTENHAUS, artist Luca Büchler works with dance and the various aspect of passive and active participation derived from cruising. Büchler uses cruising – the practice of witnessing and encountering potential partners in an everyday life context – to question movement. Exploring the physical through set corporal language, the body and his movements become (in)visible through the alternation of light and shadow. Using repetition to play with the multiple representations of identities the work flirts with an alternating fantasy, suspended between fact and fiction.
